Wearable art inspired by the Indigenous Amazigh cultures of North Africa. Created following Sangeetha Kowsik's travels through Morocco, this original scarf explores connections she discovered between Amazigh traditions and her own Tamil heritage.

The allover “Tilleli Abda,” or “Always Be Free,” pattern combines geometric motifs inspired by Amazigh art with Tifinagh script, architectural details, jewelry carvings and traditional symbols. A rich palette of desert blues references the colors associated with Amazigh culture and the Sahara, while four dark-blue corner tassels complete the design. Crafted in a luxurious silk and modal blend and generously sized at 28" x 80", the scarf transforms research, travel and cultural storytelling into contemporary wearable art.
